Stories is an instrumental guitar album inspired by years of traveling with my family throughout the American West. Written and recorded on the road with only a guitar and an iPhone, these songs became the soundtrack to those journeys.

Michael “Mike” Tippett is a Southern California guitarist and composer whose instrumental music is meant to evoke the feeling of a journey.A longtime guitarist, he has performed internationally and throughout the United States. After years away from recording, he returned to music with Stories, a collection of layered acoustic instrumentals originally written during years of traveling with his family.Over four decades, Tippett has performed in settings ranging from intimate coffeehouses and bars to outdoor concerts and auditoriums, both as a solo acoustic guitarist and with full bands.His music is built around melody, improvisation, and the natural voice of his longtime Yamaha acoustic guitar.
